Medical convoy organized in Kafr el Sheikh as part of "Decent Life" initiative

CAIRO - 4 October 2021: Health Affairs Directorate in Kafr el Sheikh governorate organized a medial convoy in "el Tarzi" village in Biyala township for free medical examination and treatment offered by the Health Ministry for residents as part of the presidential initiative of "Decent Life" targeting Egypt's countryside nationwide.


Undersecretary of Health Ministry in Kafr el Sheikh Sawsan Sallam asserted that the convoy included 12 clinics with a galaxy of specialties for gastroenterology, pediatrics, family planning, orthopedics, dermatology, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, general surgery, otolaryngology and dentistry in addition to providing radiology and analysis services.

The convoy witnessed a high turnout by the residents of the village. As many as 1,264 residents have been checked up at the various clinics.

The total number of villages targeted by the ‘Decent Life’ initiative is 4,600 lying across 20 governorates. Half of those are located in Upper Egypt, including Fayoum, Beni Suef, Menya, Sohag, Asyut, Luxor and Aswan. The rest are located in Delta, having Qalyoubeya, Damietta, Beheira, Menoufeya, Gharbia, and Sharqia.

 

The goals of the initiatives are as follows:

Rehabilitating houses, building ceilings for houses that lack them, and building residential communities in villages in need.Connecting the houses to water supply, wastewater, natural gas, and electricity networks.Introducing infrastructure necessary for micro-enterprises.Providing medical services, building hospitals and healthcare units, and equipping them with the necessary devices and medical staff.Operating medical caravans, and offering prosthetics.Improving the quality of schools, and nurseries, and establishing literacy classrooms.Expanding economic empowerment, vocational training, and employment through micro, small, and medium enterprises.Establishing industrial, and craft complexes.Bolstering food supply chains, and providing subsidized food.
