CAIRO – 2 March 2017: The Egyptian cabinet, under Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, has examined the procedures underway for the first stage of the upcoming population census, the head of Egypt’s Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS), Abu Bakr Al-Gendy, said Wednesday, according to Youm7.

Gendy added during a Wednesday press conference held in the Council of Ministers that the second stage of the census will require 41,000 employees. The prime minister approved the issuance of a manual so all departments of the cabinet can benefit from the aid of experienced employees during the census process, Gendy said.

Employees participating in the census process will each receive a 3,000 EGP bonus from the government under the directions of Prime Minister Ismail, Gendy said, adding that the census process will take a month and a half.
