Baad El Mawkeaa cast rock the red carpet at Cannes
By Nadine El Sayed
New political scene, new hopes and apparently a new sense of fashion. Menna Shalaby and co-star in the latest release Baad El Mawkeaa Nahed El Sebai have actually been voted amongst the best dressed on the red carpet. And no not the Cairo Film Festival’s red carpet, but the Cannes Film Festival on May 17 — the mother of all red carpets’ fashion. The film cast attended the 65 festival held at Palais des Festivals in Cannes, celebrating the film’s release. Various cameras captured the two divas posing proudly with director Youssry Nasrallah and co-star Bassem Samra alongside favorite Hollywood and internationally renowned stars. But The Examiner, an entertainment, news and lifestyle network with over 20 million international readers, has voted Menna Shalaby and Nahed El Sebai among the best dressed on Cannes’ red carpet, alongside Eva Langoria and top names in the Hollywood fashion scene. “Egyptian actresses Nahed El Sebai and Menna Shalabi who were attending the film Baad El Mawkeaa premiere turned up the sex appeal quotient as well on the red carpet in their bronze and white gowns respectively,” wrote their fashion editor Safia Lambrosia. Way to go ladies. Baad El Mawkeaa (After the Battle) tells the story of what has been dubbed Battle of the Camels, which took place on February 2, 2011 and lead to the deaths of many in Tahrir Square during the January 25 events.
