CAIRO - 20 March 2020: Egypt actively participates in the 65th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, which has been virtually launched in New York on March 15 and lasts for two weeks.

 


The Foreign Ministry said in a Saturday statement that the session sees an active participation from the National Council of Women in cooperation with Egypt's permanent mission to the UN in New York.



This session is held under the rubric " Full And Active Participation Of Women, Taking Decision in General Life. Also Eradication Of Violence To Achieve Equality Between Two Sexes And Empowerment Of All Women And Girls."

 

Ambassador Mohamed Idris, Egypt's permanent representative to the United Nations in New York, said that the Commission on the Status of Women is the most important international forum and gathering to discuss women's empowerment issues, stressing Egypt's keenness to participate in that activity every year in all the committee's activities.

 

He emphasized that the Egyptian achievements in the field of empowering women in various economic, political and societal fields represent a national success story.
