DAMASCUS - 4 July 2017: The Turkish army shelled with heavy artillery and rockets posts of the US-backed Democratic Syrian Forces (SDF) near Afrin city, northern Aleppo, Syrian activists said on Tuesday.

The activists added that casualties were reported as a result of the raids on Mernaz village and Mount Bersaya, according to Al Arabiya news channel.

In June, Turkey shelled SDF posts in Afrin in retaliation of opening fire at Ankara-backed Free Syrian Army.
