President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inspected on Sunday ongoing development work at the shanty area of Ezbet el Haggana and its surroundings in east Cairo.

CAIRO – 9 February 2021: Nation’s Future Party sent a large convoy of food items and blankets to the slum area of Ezbet el-Haggana in Cairo.

The move comes in response to President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s initiative
“Decent Life for Great People.” Egypt has been working hard to re-locate residents of unsafe areas, and end informal residential areas proble.

Ezbet el-Haggana slum is estimated to have a population of more than a million people, and it has been marginalized for a long time.  

Ezbet el-Haggana slum area’s name gained much attention this week after an inspection visit by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi on Sunday to stand on the ongoing development works at this shanty area, and its surroundings in east Cairo.

Sisi was accompanied by a number of ministers and officials, was briefed on the plan and efforts to upgrade and develop this area in Nasr City.

The President directed that this area be changed in a way that improves the daily living conditions of the citizens to provide a decent life for the families residing in it, as well as connect it to the new road network in the surrounding areas and provide various basic services.
