CAIRO - 3 July 2017: Minister of Immigration and Expatriate Affairs Nabila Makram asserted that the state does not oppose legal immigration, but views it as an addition to Egypt in view of the Egyptian expatriates' expertise that is considered a defense line for Egypt's national security.

Addressing a session on the second day of "Egypt Can " conference, the minister said the conference sends a message that Egypt opens its doors for the expatriates to draw on their expertise and extend bridges of cooperation that would benefit Egypt in the various domains.

The session was attended by Chairperson of the National Council for Women (NCW) Maya Morsi as well as seven of the elite Egyptian female expatriates. They included Mona Saleh, Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Munich, and leader of the use of nanotechnology and genetic editing in the treatment of epidemiological diseases at the University of Veterinary Medicine, Germany, Mary Zaki, legal adviser and head of public relations for the Egyptian and Arab community in South Africa, Nancy Hadi, founder and managing Partner of IPS International, Huda Halim, owner of institutions to preserve history and fight the demolition and removal of buildings in the US.

The session was also attended by Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nassr and Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali.
