A report released Thursday by the SSCHR to mark the first edition of the International Day of Human Fraternity shed light on Egypt's constitutional and legal framework to support values of human fraternity.

The SSCHR report underlined the institutional structure in Egypt to promote tolerance, reject violence and counter extremism and the national efforts to implement the values and principles of human fraternity, the committee's technical secretariat said in a press statement.

Egypt's diplomatic efforts in this field were crowned with the UN General Assembly adoption of a resolution in January, 2021 submitted by Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Morocco along with other countries to promote culture of peace and tolerance to safeguard religious sites.

Proclaiming February 4 as the International Day of Human Fraternity to be observed every year as of 2021, came upon a joint initiative submitted by Egypt and the UAE to the UN General Assembly.
