Cairo - 2 July 2017: Minister of Health Ahmed Emad El Din instructed Sunday all hospitals to be on high alert to face the severe heat wave, which struck the country.

The minister drawn up a plan to coordinate with hospitals, the central administration for critical and emergency care and the ambulance authority across the country to deal with any injuries reported as a result of the heat wave, ministry spokesman Khaled Mujahid told reporters.

Mujahid explained that all hospitals are well equipped to deal with any injuries reported, adding that medical teams of doctors and nurses are working around the clock.

He pointed out that all medical teams are well prepared and trained to handle any reported case of heat stress and sunstroke.

The ministry carried out awareness campaign to advise citizens on how to deal with the heat wave to avoid injuries and how to respond in case people suffer from heat stress, he added.
