CAIRO - 18 January 2021: The Egyptian Health Ministry said that 878 new coronavirus cases were detected on Monday, upping the total number of confirmed cases to 157,275.

In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 55 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 8,638.

As many as 498 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 123,491 so far, the spokesman said.
