Egypt deploys more security forces ahead of the celebrations of the New Year Eve- press photo

CAIRO – 31 December 2020: Egyptian security forces have been intensively deployed in vital places and in the vicinity of churches nationwide on the New Year’s Eve of and ahead of Christmas celebrations, said the Ministry of Interior in a statement on Thursday.
 
The Ministry of Interior affirmed to implement anti-coronavirus decisions taken by the government, especially for the opening and closure times of cafes, shops, restaurants amid the absence of any public celebration of New Year’s Eve.
 
The deployed forces include Rapid Intervention Security personnel, in cooperation with special operation forces.
 
The government has recently canceled the New Year’s Eve and Christmas celebrations due to the increasing number of the coronavirus cases.
