Pics: Civil protection puts out massive fire at Engineers Syndicate’s club in Cairo

CAIRO – 24 December 2020: The civil protection department in Cairo managed to put out a massive fire at the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate’s club in Zamalek district overnight.

No casulaties have been reported. The department has formed a cordon around the club to avoid the fire from spreading and to lessen the damage.

The civil protection department sent eight fire engines to surround the fire and managed to put it out after it caused serious damage to the club’s facilities.

In mid-December, the General Authority of Alexandria Port said a fire broke out at the second floor of a building at the Alexandria port in northern Egypt, and that 16 firefighting vehicles are dealing with the fire.

The fire has not caused any casualties, a statement by the authority read.

The area around the building was evacuated, the statement read, affirming that no further blasts have happened due to the fire.

It added that the customs authority will identify the extent of material loss, after the fire is put out and reasons behind the fire is disclosed.
