The meeting took place amid preventive measures, with social distancing maintained among the lawmakers.

House Secretary General Mahmoud Fawzy said a plan has been outlined to handover IDs to the new MPs in light of the precautionary measures now in place.

A timetable has been set for newly elected parliamentarians to receive their IDs, Fawzy said.

As many as 100 MPs of the North, Central and South Upper Egypt List should receive their IDs Wednesday, he noted.

Eighty-four lawmakers of the East Delta and West Delta lists are set to get their IDs Thursday, Fawzy added.

Individual MPs should start receiving their IDs as of Sunday, December 27, with 90 lawmakers in the governorates of Cairo, Giza, Qalyoubiya, Alexandria and Matrouh first getting theirs.

As many as 108 MPs in the governorates of Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, Sharqiya, Daqahliya, Damietta, Gharbiya, Menufiya, Behaira and Kafr el Sheikh should get their IDs on December 28.

On December 29, 86 lawmakers in Fayyoum, Beni Sweif, Minya, Assiut, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, the New Valley, the Red Sea, North Sinai and South Sinai will get their House IDs.
