CAIRO – 20 December 2020: The Ministry of Tourism has cancelled all New Year celebrations at hotels and restaurants to avoid the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.

 

Assistant Tourism Minister for Hotels Affairs Abdel Fattah al-Assy said that inspections at hotels are in full swing, and is conducted secretly. He assured that strict measures will be taken against facilities that violated the precautionary measures during the past period.

 

For his part, Tourism Minister Khaled Anani stressed that there will be no exceptions regarding closure times of cafés, restaurants and bazaars as determined in the government’s regulations amid COVID-19 measures.

 

Anani added that shops will not be opened on Christmas eve or New Year after the closing dates.
