CAIRO – 17 December 2020: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi wished his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron a speedy recovery Thursday after he had been diagnosed with COVID-19.

 

Sisi pointed out that Macron is leading his country firmly in the face of the pandemic affirming his support to the efforts deployed by France to restrict the spread of the virus. In the same context, the president stressed the necessity of concerting efforts among the international community to combat the epidemic.

 

"May God protect all peoples of the world," president Sisi concluded on his official accounts on social media.

 

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi returned home on December 10 after concluding an official visit to France, where he discussed ways of enhancing bilateral relations in all fields and tackled international and regional issues, according to a statement from the Egyptian Presidency.

 

During his three-day visit, President Sisi President met with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, whereas both leaders discussed bilateral relations and different international issues of common interest.

 

President Sisi expressed hope for enhancing joint cooperation in fields of industry and information technology during a meeting with Paris French Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire.

 

Sisi discussed with President of French Senate Gerard Larcher ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in the coming period, especially in the tourism, cultural, and development fields.

 

He also met with Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris. President Sisi discussed the size and diversity of the major national projects underway in Egypt, which provides multiple areas for joint cooperation in the newly-built cities, especially the new administrative capital, besides the tourism and antiquities sector, Radi continued, noting that President focused on ways of strengthening cooperation at the economic and trade levels.

 

Sisi started his official visit by a meeting with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, where they discussed the eastern Mediterranean, Libya, Syria, cultural understanding and respect between Europe and the Islamic world.
