CAIRO – 10 December 2020: "Egypt Home," which is a residence for expat Egyptian students that is being constructed in the International University Campus in Paris, will be completed in 2023, according to the developer.

 

Architect Walid Arafa of Dar Arafa for Architecture stated in a phone-in Wednesday that the company's tender offer has won after the French and Egyptian presidents signed the agreement to establish the residence in October 2017.

 

Egypt is the third Arab state to build a residence in the International University Campus in Paris after Tunisia and Morocco. The land plot allocated to the project stretches over 1,900 square meters and will house a building consisting of 200 rooms, a library, and a multi-purpose area, as reported by Mobtada.

 

The International University Campus in Paris was launched in 1925, and now, includes 40 residences representing 25 states and having 6,000 students.

 

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi returned home on Wednesday after concluding an official visit to France, where he discussed ways of enhancing bilateral relations in all fields and tackled international and regional issues, according to a statement from the Egyptian Presidency.

 

During his three-day visit, President Sisi President met on Monday with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, where both leaders discussed bilateral relations and different international issues of common interest.

 

Also, President Sisi expressed hope for enhancing joint cooperation in fields of industry and information technology during a Wednesday meeting with Paris French Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire.

 

Sisi discussed on Tuesday with President of French Senate Gerard Larcher ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in the coming period, especially in the tourism, cultural, and development fields.

 

He also met with Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, on Monday. President Sisi dicussed the size and diversity of the major national projects underway in Egypt, which provides multiple areas for joint cooperation in the newly-built cities, especially the new administrative capital, besides the tourism and antiquities sector, Radi continued, noting that President focused on ways of strengthening cooperation at the economic and trade levels.
