Sisi thank Macron for warm reception, hospitality

CAIRO – 7 December 2020: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al Sisi thanked his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron for his warm reception and hospitality during his visit to France, which started Sunday.

On his official twitter account, Sisi said “I thank French President Emmanuel Macron for the warm reception and hospitality during my visit to France. The relations between our two countries are characterized by diversity in many fields. Today, we discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations at various levels.

“We exchanged visions on our common issues, and the need to intensify meaningful consultation facing challenges to consolidate peace and stability in the region.” He added.

 

Sisi meet, Sunday evening with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian at the French Foreign Ministry's headquarters, as they discussed number of regional files.

 

During their talks, Sisi affirmed that Egypt is keen on strengthening its strategic partnership with France, which represents an important pillar for maintaining security and stability in the Mediterranean and the Middle East.

Le Drian said his country wants to intensify joint coordination with Egypt regarding Mideast issues.

Radi added that Sisi and Le Drian meeting discussed number of regional files, with a special focus on the latest developments in east Mediterranean, Libya and Syria along with crises in some countries in the region.

President Sisi stressed that full support of the international community is the only settlement to all such crises in order to face any meddling attempts, uprooting terrorism and achieving balance among countries in the region, according to the spokesman.

Sisi added that his country is keen on boosting strategic partnership with France, as a cornerstone of entrenching security and stability in the Mediterranean region and the Middle East.

Radi noted that the two sides tackled recent updates of the Palestinian cause and ways to revive peacemaking.
