CAIRO - 4 December 2020: The Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) published Friday an infographic on its Facebook page, showing that Egypt ranked first in MENA and 25th globally in the Bloomberg’s Covid Resilience Ranking.
The Covid Resilience Ranking showed that Egypt had an average seven infections for every 100 thousand citizens, and 64 deaths among every one million citizens.
The index also estimated that Egypt would be among the first five countries, which are expected to achieve growth in 2020.
The Covid Resilience Ranking scores economies of more than $200 billion on 10 key metrics: from growth in virus cases to the overall mortality rate, testing capabilities and the vaccine supply agreements places have forged.
The capacity of the local health-care system, the impact of virus-related restrictions like lockdowns on the economy, and citizens’ freedom of movement are also taken into account.
