CAIRO - 15 November 2020: In a Saturday statement, the Ministry of Health reported that 228 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed cases to 110,547.


Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 13 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 6,442.



As many as 99 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 100,946 so far, the spokesman said. 

 

Regional Adviser of Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Prevention and Control at World Health Organization Maha Talaat warned of the possible increasing rate of the coronavirus (Covid-19) infection in winter.

 

In a phone call with Extra News" on Friday, she said that people should be vigilant in the coming period, noting that physical distancing is one of the most important means of reducing the spread of the virus.

 

The ministry announced Tuesday that it had reserved Pfizer anti-COVID-19 vaccine doses that will fulfill 20 percent of Egypt's needs.
