CAIRO - 1 November 2020: The Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committee of the Egyptian House of Representatives has approved a loan agreement between Egypt and the Saudi Fund for Development regarding the newly-inaugurated King Salman bin Abdulaziz University in Sharm El Sheikh on Saturday.
 
The approval of the agreement comes in light of King Salman program for the development of the Sinai Peninsula.
 
As per the agreement, the Saudi Fund would provide the Egyptian government more than 1.46 billion Saudi Riyals, for establishing civil works in the project.
 
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, along Saudi delegation chaired by governor of Tabuk Province Prince Fahd bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, inaugurated King Salman University and a number of other projects in Sharm El Sheikh, South Sina, on Saturday.
 
The newly-built King Salman University in Sharm El Sheikh city is considered one of the national projects for the development of Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula. It has three branches in the cities of Al-Tur, Ras Sidr, and  Sharm El Sheikh, with a total of 10 colleges that can accommodate up to 30,000 students.
 
The majors of the university include Applied Engineering, Computer Science, Technological Industries, Financial and Administrative Sciences, Tourism and Hospitality, Desert Architecture, Language and Applied Languages, and Art and Design.
