The UNRWA focuses on supporting education, health and relief efforts.

Shoukry - who is currently in Amman - made the remarks during a meeting with UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini.

Shoukry hailed the pivotal humanitarian role played by the UNRWA to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian refugees, stressing Egypt's support for the UNRWA.

Meanwhile, Lazzarini expressed deep appreciation of the efforts being exerted by Egypt to back the UNRWA and the Palestinian cause.
