CAIRO - 22 September 2020: The high-level debate of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York kicked off Tuesday, where Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry delivered Egypt’s statement.

The meeting was held via video conference. During the meeting, Shoukry stressed the importance of respecting international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter in order to change the world for the better.

He also highlighted the importance of upgrading international multilateral action mechanisms so that the international organization can confront the current and future challenges facing the world countries.

He presented the Egyptian vision on how to deal with current challenges facing the world for guaranteeing a better future of the human community in general. This vision is aimed at sparing the world disputes and conflicts, he pointed out.

The Egyptian vision, he added, is based on several pillars the first of which is guaranteeing the sovereignty of states on their territories along with preserving international peace and security through confronting any attempt to undermine the national State.

Also, this vision, he noted, is based on implementing the goals of sustainable development plan 2030 and easing the consequences of global warming and climate change together with protecting human rights in their comprehensive concept through confronting racial discrimination and hatred and empowering women and young people.
