CAIRO – 20 September 2020: Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will will meet UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Ján Kubiš on Sunday, according to  a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

They will tackle the international and regional issues of mutual concerns, particularly the situation in Lebanon.

Ján Kubiš will also hold a meeting with Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit to discuss the latest developments in the region, especially the situation in Lebanon following the bombing of the Beirut port, as well as the deterioration of the economic conditions in Lebanon.

On September 12, 2020, Ján Kubiš called for conducting a credible investigation into Beirut port explosion, which killed at more than 190 people and injured thousands.

With pain in our hearts we remember the victims of the devastating #BeirutBlast , forty days after. Only credible and transparent investigation, complete accountability and full justice can prevent repetitions of such tragedy, such crime.
