CAIRO – 1 September 2020: Iraqi Ambassador to Cairo Ahmed Nayef al-Dulaimi discussed Tuesday with Minister of Planning Hala al-Saeed ways of cooperation between both countries in the fields of economy and investment.

This comes in light of the intensive preparation of the Supreme Joint Iraqi- Egyptian committee during the coming period, which is set to be held in Baghdad between the prime ministers of the two countries.

Al- Dulaimi stressed that Iraq has become an attractive arena for foreign companies and investments after winning over ISIS terrorist gangs, achieving security stability and political openness to its regional and international surroundings.

He further emphasized the importance of aligning the cooperation strategy between the two brotherly countries, explaining that coordination is underway to study drafts, agreements and memoranda of understanding proposed by the Egyptian side.

During the meeting, Minister Hala al-Saeed confirmed Egypt’s keenness to convene the committee as soon as possible, as the joint committee is one of the most important mechanisms for activating cooperation between both countries in many fields.
