CAIRO – 14 August 2020: The Karantina Governmental Hospital in Beirut has received a 2-ton medial aid from Cairo on Friday, announced the Egyptian Embassy in Lebanon in a statement.

The aid comes in light of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s decision of providing Lebanon with urgent medial and food aid after the deadly blast that claimed the lives of 177 people and injured more than 6,000 others, including 100 in the ICUs on August 4, 2020.

Egyptian Ambassador in Beirut Yasser Elwi affirmed Egypt’s keenness to provide all forms of support to Lebanon

He noted that the first shipment of the maritime bridge that Egypt launched to Lebanon will arrive to Beirut next week, with materials of constructions.

The capacity of an air bridge Egypt has recently opened to send relief to Lebanon.

In remarks to Egyptian state’s news agency MENA, Ambassador Yasser Allawi said the relief supplies sent through the air bridge are continuously increasing, adding that they include medical equipment, medicine, as well as doctors and specialized surgeons in all disciplines.

A relief plane will arrive in Beirut every 48 hours, Allawi added.
