CAIRO - 13 August 2020: Egypt recorded, Wednesday, 129 new coronavirus cases, upping the total number of confirmed cases to 95963.

In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 26 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 5085.

As many as 1013 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 55901 so far, the spokesman said.

Statistics for the Ministry of Health and Population revealed last week that the recovery rates for people infected with coronavirus in quarantine hospitals have risen to 53.1 percent for the first time since the beginning of the crisis.
