The national coordination committee for combating illegal immigration and human trafficking marked the United Nations World Day against Trafficking in Persons within the framework of Egypt's efforts to promote human rights.

Madbouli said the extraordinary conditions of the coronavirus have added to the burdens of the states, especially developing states.

Despite these conditions, Egypt proceeded with its efforts to finalize a mechanism for protecting victims of human trafficking in line with directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

Egypt has also sought to balance between confronting the pandemic and taking all needed preventive measures on the one hand and the negative impact of the pandemic on people's standards of living and means of protecting them from the danger of exploitation.

The premier stressed that Egypt is keen on proceeding with offering all needed protection of needy people and human trafficking victims.
