CAIRO - 5 July 2020: With deep sadness and sorrow, Egypt’s First Lady Entisar el-Sisi mourned the death of Veteran Egyptian actress Ragaa el-Gedawy, who passed away at 82, from severe health complications due to COVID-19.

The First Lady said that Gedawy left behind a legacy of fine and sincere artworks, which will remain in our conscience and memory forever.

Gedawy was tested positive for coronavirus on May 24. The veteran actress was infected with the novel coronavirus, after she finished shooting her last role in “Le'bet el Nesian” (The Forgetting Game) series, which was broadcast in Ramadan 3030.

The veteran Egyptian actress' health condition deteriorated and she was transferred to the ICU of Ismailia Hospital, where she was receiving her treatment from COVID-19.

Gedawy, whose career spanned over six decades, was regarded as a symbol of elegance in every sense of the word, a classy lady on screen and in real life.
