CAIRO, May 6 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli gave directives to expand in manufacturing medical face masks according to the sustainable standards of masks' production, Cabinet Spoksman Nader Saad said on Wednesday.

These remarks were made by Madbouli as he chaired a special committee meeting to follow up on the medical situation pertaining to combating the spread of coronavirus. The meeting was attended by Presidential Adviser for Health Affairs Mohamed Awad Tageldine, Minister of Health Hala Zayed, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghafar, Head of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Technology Management (AUPP) General Bahaa el Dine Zedan and Head of the Egyptian Drug Authority Tamer Essam.

He said that there will be coordination with factories to swiftly allocate production lines to face masks.

Also, Madbouli directed to contract on the vaccine of seasonal flu to be available by the beginning of the coming winter season.

This comes within the governmental approach to take preemptive steps to avoid any future crises.

Madbouli checked the availability of the medical equipment and the needs of the hospitals.

He asserted the importance of abiding by the preventive measures against coronavirus in the different sectors and facilities of the state.

During the meeting, Zayed explained the coronavirus map in Egypt until May 4.

The meeting underlined the importance of wearing medical face masks in the streets, at work, during shopping and in the public transportation to avoid the infection with COVID 19.
