CAIRO, May 3 (MENA) - About one million tons of wheat was delivered from farmers to government silos across the nation since the start of local supply season on April 15, according to a report sent to Supply Minister Ali Moselhy on Sunday.

The local season will continue for three months as Egypt targets to procure 3.6 million tons of the grain from local farmers.

Wheat sorting and receiving committees across the nation will continue working in Ramadan from 8am to 4pm, he said.

To reduce crowds, a second shift was introduced in silos that have lights to start after Iftar breaking and run from 8pm to 11pm, he added.
