CAIRO – 30 April 2020: The Addiction Treatment & Abuse Fund led by Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine al-Kabbaj applies six measures to support addiction recoverees and reduce relapse amid coronavirus pandemic.

Minister Kabbaj continues to broadcast sessions to provide psychological support, and respond to the inquiries of the recovered and their families through specialists at the fund as many of the recovered are staying at home during this period to prevent the spread of coronavirus.


In the following lines, Egypt Today provides an outline of the psychological support sessions provided for the recovered addicts


1- The fund’s website provides live broadcast continuously.

2- You can communicate with the fund via the hotline 16023 available 24 hours to provide services and advice at any time.

3- The continuation of online” group therapy sessions for the recovered, where they engage in learning a group of life skills that help them get rid of addiction.

4- A total of 3,100 recovered addicts benefited from these group therapy sessions.

5- Psychological support sessions are part of the psychological rehabilitation program for the recovered, where they practice activities that help them organize and stabilize their lives, enhancing significant skills such as time management problem solving, dealing with fear, anxiety, depression, and dealing with dangerous situations.


6- The recovered interact together in the group, where each member shares his ideas and personal experience during the illness period and the recovery period.
