CAIRO – 24 April 2020: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said that Friday, which marks the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, will witness an increase in temperatures, recording highs of 36 °C in Cairo.

This comes as the country is seeing a rise in temperature degrees accompanied with an active sand wind.

North eastern coasts and Central Sinai will witness hot weather in the morning, and cold weather at night, with light rainfall.

Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad warned the elderly, children, and the chronically ill of the bad weather, asking them to avoid the open-air areas.

However, head of the EMA’s Weather Forecast Department Mahmoud Shahin said that it expected that temperature could decrease by 10 °C on Saturday.
