Coronavirus: 1st death confirmed in central Iraq

BAGHDAD, March 14 (MENA) - The health directorate of the central Iraqi governorate of Wasit announced the first death of a coronavirus case (COVID-19) for an elderly man on Saturday.

The elderly person - who contacted the novel coronoavirus after he has come back from Iran recently - was hospitalized along his wife after showing the symptoms of the deadly virus, Alsumaria channel quoted Iraq's Health Ministry as saying.

The deceased man had suffered heart failure and respiratory system problems, leading to the rapid deterioration of his health condition and subsequently to death, the ministry added.
