Health, tourism, aviation ministers follow up anti-COVID 19 measures

CAIRO, March 8 (MENA) - Ministers Hala Zayed of Health, Khaled Anani of Tourism and Antiquities and Mohamed Manar of Civil Aviation inspected on Sunday the quarantine at Luxor International Airport within the framework of following up the state's precautionary measures against the coronavirus (COVID-19).

Health Ministry Spokesman Khaled Megahed said the ministers underwent checkups upon their arrival at Luxor International Airport.

The health minister said the state is committed to the application of strict precautionary measures at all ports and airports since the World Health Organization announced the outbreak of the coronavirus in January.

If any of the passenger suffers from fever, he undergoes the virus' tests and if tested positive, he will be sent to specialized quarantine hospital, she expounded.

Zayed added that there is full coordination among the ministries of health, tourism and aviation on applying these precautionary measures.

Meanwhile, Tourism Minister Khaled Anani said his visit to Luxor came under directives of the prime minister who convenes with the ministers daily to follow up the latest developments concerning the coronavirus.

He added that tourism is going on normally in Luxor.

Civil Aviation Minister Mohamed Manar expressed appreciation of frontline workers in the aviation domain for their cooperation to implement the state's precautionary measures against the coronavirus.
