CAIRO - 5 March 2020: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi stressed Egypt's solidarity with South Korea against the coronavirus, expressing his confidence in the ability of the Korean state to overcome this ordeal.

This came during a phone call from President of the Republic of South Korea President Moon JN to President Sisi on Thursday, according to a statement issued by presidency spokesman Bassam Rady.

The president expressed Egypt's pride in the close ties it enjoys with South Korea, and the existing partnership between the two countries, appreciating the bilateral economic cooperation and the successful models provided by Korean investments in Egypt.

During the phone call, the two sides agreed to develop the trade relations in light of the major development projects being implemented in Egypt and the attractive investment opportunities provided, most importantly in the economic zone of the Suez Canal.

For his part, the Korean president expressed his country's pride in the distinguished relations with Egypt, and his aspiration to strengthen the bilateral relations at various levels, and increase the volume of Korean investments in light of Egypt’s economic growth and a comprehensive development movement.
