CAIRO - 29 February 2020: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly declared on Saturday that workers in the hotel where two French tourists diagnosed with Coronavirus were staying will be tested.

The prime minister affirmed that Egyptian authorities had consulted with French counterparts over the diagnosis of two French tourists coming from Egypt of Coronavirus.

Cairo contacts Paris, Ontario on coronavirus cases coming from Egypt

CAIRO - 29 February 2020: The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced that it is in contact with France and Canada after the two countries confirmed cases with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) coming from Egypt. David Williams, medical officer of health in Ontario, said on Friday that eight cases, including a man coming from Egypt, were tested positive for the virus in Toronto's Ontario, CBC reported.




The two were part of a group of six who were on holiday in Egypt between February 5-16. Hence, their place of residence was identified and the workers will be tested.

The prime minister revealed that a ministerial committee was formed and convened twice last week to follow up on the developments of the outbreak on the international scale, particularly in regional states.

The cabinet approved the import of additional medical equipment - worth LE150 million - that will be used for preventive purposes.

The prime minister stated that the two suspected cases in Hurghada were tested negative.
