Egypt, UN official discuss latest development in regional situation

CAIRO - 20 February 2020: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed on Tuesday with the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jan Kubitsch, the latest developments in the regional situation.

Shoukry asserted Egypt’s full commitment to Lebanon’s security, stability and safety by working on Lebanese national interests and achieving the needs of the Lebanese people.

According to a statement released by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Hafez, Kubitsch praised Egypt’s role in maintaining stability in Lebanon and the region, expressing his keenness to continue cooperation and consultation with the Egyptian Government in this regard.
