CAIRO - 4 February 2020: Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala el Saeed said that her ministry is about to finish the review of the updated version of a national agenda for sustainable development which will be launched soon.

This was announced at a meeting with International Cooperation Minister Rania el-Mashat on Tuesday to discuss cooperation and coordination between the two ministries in the coming stage.

During the meeting, Saeed asserted her ministry's keenness on following up the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted at the UN Sustainable Development Summit on 25 September 2015 and preparing periodical reports to evaluate the indicators for fulfilling its set of goals.

The updated version of the Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS): Egypt Vision 2030, which represents a foothold on the way towards inclusive development, focuses on the idea of establishing partnerships, she added.

She further noted that the Planning Ministry is working on setting up new partnerships with the private sector, civil society, in addition to local and international development partners with the view to promoting the Financing for Development (FfD).

FfD aims at promoting a comprehensive and integrated approach to providing the policies and resources needed to support sustainable development around the world.
