Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali – Egypt Today/Asmaa Abdullatif

CAIRO – 17 June 2017: “The board of trustees of the National Institution of Family and Society Development held a meeting on Friday to discuss the results of developing the Institution’s activities, services, and programs,” according to Al Masry Al Youm.

The meeting chaired by the minister of social cooperation discussed the tasks of providing care for 500 persons with disabilities in six care institutions in Greater Cairo, granting micro finance in a total value of LE 10 million, marketing micro enterprises products in permanent exhibitions, and other social programs.

The board initially approved the development of the activities carried out by the Cognitive Development Center in Matareya, a traditional neighborhood in Cairo.

“The Egyptian Armed Forces Engineering Authorities presented a project to develop the Center at an estimated cost of LE 50 million,” according to El Masry El Youm.

The project includes care centers for geriatric cognitive and intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, autism, physiotherapy as well as a healthcare complex.
