Security beefed up around churches ahead of New Year, Christmas eves

CAIRO – 25 December 2019: Security authorities have heightened security measures around worship places ahead of New Year and Christmas celebrations.

The security plan includes encircling churches and vital facilities with tightened security measures to provide a safe and secured environment for celebrations.

All security directorates witnessed an extensive security proliferation on streets, squares, worship places and at vital facilities to maintain security and deal immediately and decisively with anything that could disturb public peace.

The plans also include installing security checkpoints; monitoring points around streets and roads; women police services to participate in inspection procedures, besides police dogs to inspect and comb the areas and fields.

Electronic gates will be installed outside churches to conduct inspections before entrance.

The ministry called upon all people to abide by security instructions and cooperate with police officers to implement the security plans strictly and carefully.
