Shoukry reviewed Egypt's national goals topped by protecting the national security and foreign policy. The top diplomat also expounded Egypt's strategy to combat terrorism, stressing that “states sponsoring terror” should not be condoned.

Furthermore, Shoukry underscored the deeply rooted ties between Egypt and African states, noting that Egypt restored its historical role in Africa through holding the rotating presidency of the African Union in 2019.

In statements to MENA on the sidelines of ECFA, the minister said the council is strongly backed by the Foreign Ministry, expressing hope for more collaborative work to serve the homeland. The top diplomat said ECFA members have immensely contributed to enriching the Egyptian diplomatic life and promoting the understanding of the Egyptian foreign policy since its establishment 20 years ago.
