CAIRO, Dec 11 (MENA) - Arab Parliament Speaker Mishaal bin Fahm al Salami expressed the parliament's categorical rejection of a Brazilian parliamentarian's visit to the Israeli settlement "Psagot" in the occupied West Bank.

In a statement on Wednesday, Salami deemed this visit as a blatant violation of international law and legitimacy resolutions, saying it will encourage the Israeli side to proceed with its policy of illegally seizing lands by force from the Palestinians and establishing settlements on them.

Salami sent a letter to the chairman of the National Congress of Brazil to express his rejection of Brazilian lawmaker Eduardo Bolsonaro's visit to Israel's Psagot settlement, which is built on the occupied Palestinian territories.

He also deemed this action as a clear breach of UN Security Council resolution 2334 (2016) that termed Israel's settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territories "illegal."
