CAIRO, Nov 24 (MENA) - Tourism Minister Rania el Mashaat took part in a mini-meeting called by Chinese President Xi Jinping with a group of participants in Bloomberg’s New Economy Forum.

The mini-meeting in Beijing was attended by former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, former US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, former Australian prime minister Kevin Rudd and Co-Executive Chairman of The Carlyle Group David M. Rubenstein.

During the meeting, the Chinese president underlined the importance of innovation in the current stage, citing the major changes which the world witnessed over the past 100 years.

He urged countries to work together for innovation, noting that China and the US are the biggest countries promoting innovation.

He said China is ready to cooperate with all world countries, including the US, in the innovation domain.

For her part, Mashaat thanked the Chinese president for inviting her to attend this important meeting, highlighting the depth of the strategic and political ties between Egypt and China.

She hailed China's interest in holding international conferences to transparently address economic challenges.
