FILE: The Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF)
CAIRO – 9 November 2019: The Science and Technology Development Fund (STDF), in cooperation with the UK Royal Academy of Engineering, have organized a workshop to support innovative projects and creative ideas.
The aim of the workshop is to raise awareness regarding scientific research and innovation.
The workshop falls within the framework of the £50 million Newton-Mosharafa Fund partnership, one of the major international cooperation projects supported by the STDF to finance research projects in various fields.
In a statement on Saturday, STDF executive chairman Emad Eddin Hegazy said that the workshop aims at achieving sustainable development through turning the output of scientific research in Egypt into industrial application.
The move comes in line with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's plan, Hegazy added.
A number of innovations were presented during the workshop and researchers whose projects have been funded, produced and marketed were honored, he noted.
