CAIRO – 1 November 2019: UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future Mohammad Bin Abdullah Al Gergawi on Thursday expressed happiness to visit Egypt's New Administrative Capital, calling it "amazing."

Gergawi, during his speech during a conference of the Egypt Government Excellence Award, in the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Planning Minister Hala El-Saeed, praised the "great construction capabilities" of the Egyptian youth, which is reflected in the speedy construction of the NAC.

The conference comes in accordance with a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the Egyptian Ministry of Planning, Follow-up and Administrative Reform and UAE's Ministry of Future in the 2018 World Summit of Governments, held in Dubai.

Gergawi expressed appreciation of the Egyptian people and government and praised the vision of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. He also hailed the Egyptian people's capability of achieving the country's aspirations.

He also lauded Egypt's stance since the UAE's foundation, saying that Egypt has been among the first countries to stand by the UAE since it was born and has granted the Gulf country the experience and the care.

He referred to the government award, saying that it reflects the directives of President Sisi, as it represents the biggest prize aiming to improve government performance, as part of the state's sustainable development plan.

Madbouli, for his part, said during the celebration that the government is continuing to work on achieving economic reform and sustained growth with active participation from the private sector, civil society and all international partners in development.

The government has come a long way in providing a suitable business climate via legislative and institutional reforms, Madbouli said.

He also pointed out the infrastructure projects being carried out in Egypt and the new mechanisms created to encourage the private sector to participate in development efforts.

In this regard, the prime minister highlighted the launch of Egypt's Sovereign Wealth Fund, which aims to establish partnership with local and foreign private sectors as well as to engage in cooperation with international sovereign funds and direct investment funds.
