CAIRO – 21 October 2019: Egypt's Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal on Monday received Kuwait's Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak accompanied by a high-level delegation, during which they discussed parliamentary relations.

Abdel Aal expressed the appreciation of the Egyptian government and people for Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber's supportive and constructive role towards Egypt and the Arab issues.

Abdel Aal reviewed the friendly and historical relations between the two brotherly countries in all fields, in light of the historical moments these relations have experienced.

The speaker also discussed the Egyptian-Kuwaiti parliamentary relations and mutual coordination in international parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

He also asked the Kuwaiti prime minister to convey his greetings to the emir.

For his part, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak stressed the special relations between the two countries in all fields.

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi earlier on Monday held a meeting with Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak, during which they discussed ways to boost bilateral relations between the two countries, presidential spokesman Bassam Radi said.

During their meeting in Cairo, Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak hailed Egypt's pivotal role in the region as a main pillar for security and stability of the Arab world, as well as its keenness to foster solidarity among Arab nations and to push forward the joint Arab efforts.

Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak expressed his country's appreciation for the historic ties and various relations linking it with Egypt. He also voiced Kuwait's keenness to enhance cooperation with the African country at all levels, and to constantly coordinate with it on various issues.

The Kuwaiti prime minister, during the meeting, handed a written message from Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber who conveyed greetings to President Sisi.
