In pics: Heavy rains in Aswan, Sinai lead to traffic stop

CAIRO – 16 October 2019: Aswan Governorate witnessed heavy rains on Wednesday morning that resulted in a traffic block. Some Students faced troubles reaching their schools in the Morning.




The governorate's administration announced a case of emergency and took all the necessary measures to face the heavy rains inside the residential areas. Nile boats were notified that sailing could be a threat on Wednesday.





In an official statement, Aswan Governorate urged car drivers to take all safety measures due to the weather fluctuations.

Sinai, as well, was reported to witness the same wave of heavy rains on Wednesday.





Meteorological experts expected that these heavy rains could turn into torrents.

On Monday, the experts warned of an unstable weather during the weekend especially in Sinai, warning that this area will witness heavy thunder rains.




Expected temperatures for Wednesday come as follows:

Cairo: Highs of 32°C and lows of 23°C

Alexandria: Highs of 28°C and lows of 23°C

Matrouh: Highs of 27°C and lows of 22°C

Sohag: Highs of 36°C and lows of 24°C

Qena: Highs of 36°C and lows of 23°C

Aswan: Highs of 38°C and lows of 29°C
