CAIRO - 13 October 2019: Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Khaled bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said on Sunday that the Turkish aggression on Syria showed the importance of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s call for a unified Arab stance during his visit to Bahrain in 2018.

Khalifa’s speech came during his interview with the Kuwaiti newspaper Annahar. Khalifa hailed the move taken by several Arab countries after Turkey started its offensive against Syria.

Khalifa pointed out that the Arab League’s statement issued on Saturday after the Arab foreign ministers' meeting in Cairo sent a clear message to Turkey that its aggression on Syria is fully rejected, calling on the UNto take action to stop it.

In the same context, the minister condemned the Turkish aggression against Syria, stressing that it violates the sovereignty of an Arab country, and exploits itspolitical turmoil and its suffering.

For the Iraqi situation, Khalifa asserted that Bahrain does not interfere in other countries' affairs and the Bahraini government hopesstability is established in Iraq.
