Egypt’s Sisi offers condolences on army martyrs

CAIRO – 27 September 2019: Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al Sisi offered his condolences over the death of Egyptian Army officers during a raid on a terrorist hideout in Sinai that ended with serious casualties among the terrorist groups in the peninsula.


“Peace be upon those who sacrificed their blood for this great homeland, today the coward terrorism snatched lives of our good sons who sacrificed their precious souls for the sake of this country. The terrorism cancer is still trying to abduct this country, however, we remain steadfast fighting terrorism with all our power and faith and we shall be victorious, God willing, and then thanks to the powerful Egyptian army, the army that stands as the rock on which all the ambitions and the ideas of evil souls are shattered.

The great people of Egypt, I would like to assert that our battle against terrorism would not end without a popular will determined to destroy all kinds of such a phenomenon, whether it was terrorizing minds or souls. Therefore, I wish that this nation have the goal of destroying terrorism and advancing the national interest.

God save Egypt and save its people.

118 terrorists killed, 33 shelters destroyed and 273 explosive devices were defused by Egypt’s forces during military operations in central and North Sinai, according to the Egyptian Military forces’ statement.

During these operations, and as result of engaging with the terrorist and ‘takfiri’ elements, one army officer, along with other nine soldiers were martyred, according to the statement.
