Govt denies shortage in agricultural fertilizers in markets

CAIRO - 22 August 2019: The cabinet's media center has denied rumors circulated recently on shortage in agricultural fertilizers in the markets.

In a fact-finding report on Thursday, the center said that the Ministry of Agriculture asserted the news was totally void of truth.

The ministry asserted that there is no shortage in the agricultural fertilizers, saying that the Egyptian production of fertilizers meets the needs of the local market and the surplus is exported abroad.

Egypt consumes 50% of the fertilizers production, the ministry said.

The ministry urged the media means to be accurate about the news they publish.
